 There was also fire used in the censers on the golden altar of incense.  The burning of incense in scripture is a picture of intercession and worship.

Let my prayer be set before You as incense.  Psalm 141:2

Rev. 8:3-4 says, And another angel came and stood over the altar. He had a golden censer, and he was given very much incense (fragrant spices and gums which exhale perfume when burned), that he might mingle it with the prayers of all the people of God (the saints) upon the golden altar before the throne. And the smoke of the incense (the perfume) arose in the presence of God, with the prayers of the people of God (the saints), from the hand of the angel.

At times the revival fire of God comes in a meeting to ignite deep intercession or powerful worship. People may weep, sob, groan or cry out under the influence of the fire of intercession.

During worship there is so much activity happening in the supernatural. It is when the creative presence of the Lord God touches His people. Some people see pictures, hear Scriptures, get a word of knowledge, or hear His voice. All of it is valid, real and scriptural. But, what does worship really do?

Worship moves the very heart of God and changes the very heart of man. It takes only a few seconds of a face-to-face encounter with the manifest presence of God to change the course of human history for you, your city, or your nation.

Sincere and passionate prayer is the key to unlock our relationship with Almighty God. Many struggle with praying because they feel that their intercession is not much more than empty cries to an invisible God who seems so far off or distant. We think that our prayers shoot only as high as the ceiling and then bounce back unheard and unanswered. But beloved, God loves communing with You! He promises that He will hear us and answer!

In fact, communing with God is the highest purpose for which you were created! “This is eternal life to know Me.” (John 17).  Our hunger for God Himself is what fuels our prayer life.  When His presence is our passion and our hunger is for His heart, we can approach the throne of God boldly with the confidence that our Daddy loves our prayers, but having this first love is so important.  As John Bunyan said, “In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart.”

Isaiah 64:1-2 reads: “Oh that You would rend the heavens!  That You would come down. That the mountains would shake at Your presence. As fire burns brushwood, as fire causes water to boil, to make Your name known to Your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Your presence.”

God is coming! His holy fire causes a ‘boiling’. The word used for ‘boil’ is “beah”, which is from a root word meaning “to gush over, to swell, to desire earnestly”.

In Daniel 6:11, that word is also used: “They found Daniel praying.” The fire of God ignited deep intercession in Daniel’s life.

His holy fire still does the same thing TODAY!
